About Kristi Wachter

I love to read, especially history.

I'm exploring classical and jazz, although I still love lots of the rock I grew up on.

I enjoy walking around the beautiful city of San Francisco and exploring the lovely parks and headlands.

I work as a computer consultant, doing web design and technical writing. I have experience with lots of related tasks, from user interface design to copyediting. I spend a lot of my free time playing with Drupal, a wonderful open-source content management system.

From 1991 to 2003, I ran Racer Records, a little independent record label. I had the pleasure of putting out 20 albums by a dozen artists I truly love.

I'm an advocate of human rights and free speech; that passion led me to create four sites related to Scientology:

Scientology Lies
a site documenting Scientology's lies and criminal acts
Truth About Scientology
a site for Scientologists, focusing on changes to the writings of L. Ron Hubbard and the organization's declining statistics
the Lisa McPherson Files
the evidence compiled by the Clearwater Police Department while investigating the death of Scientologist Lisa McPherson, who died in Scientology's custody
The Compleat Aberree
all twelve years of The Aberree, a newsletter published by former Scientologists in the 1950s and 1960s, covering all kinds of mid-century spiritual and psychic practices, with a wonderfully irreverent sense of humor

I contribute to the Drupal forums and issue queues and Ask MetaFilter, and less frequently to Wikipedia.

I have of lot of fun learning Drupal and php and mySQL by tinkering with these sites, but I spend most of my free time reading, listening to music, taking walks, and learning to play music.
